Current reports are vague in detail regarding the cause of death, with multiple outlets suggesting Chambers passed away in his sleep from undetermined or undisclosed reasons. Condolences were tweeted out by multiple teammates and former teammates, including Jameson Taillon.
Chambers’ minor league career performance includes a 2010 season in which he hit .239 with 12 home runs and 35 stolen bases for Low A West Virginia in the Sally League.
He was drafted in the 3rd round (84th overall) by the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2009 and signed for $423,900.
